The freelancer's life is not that simple as it may seem. In fact the freelancer lifestyle came into fashion a couple of years ago. I don't mean to say they hadn't existed before that. It's 2009 and internet technologies are developing in an amazing pace. More and more competent players emerge, not to mention the up and coming talents who spring forth from the mist of anonymity. So I daresay freelancers have hard times ahead of them. Unfortunately, the cliches that have been being used until now do not fulfil their original role any longer. What's more, if you take a closer look at the css galleries you will find dozens of freelancer portfolios made on the basis of the same samples.
It's not easy to stand out of the crowd as it used to be just a few years before, but I am going to try to help you.

I rarely make corporate designs as I usually don’t undertake offline print jobs.The only exception is if the client is really close to my heart. Not as if I were incompetent, simply I made incomparably more web design jobs in the past years. This is what happened now too. One of my best clients asked me to upgrade the out-dated brand of his firm. So I made him 2 business card conceptions.

Get a closer look at the orange design element in the top right corner. It’s the perfect example how a well-chosen object can improve a plain and simple design.

The planning of a website requires a lot of time.It's important to plan the wireframe of the website first on paper or with the adequate software (visio, illustrator) to see if any - ergonomic - problem comes up. Once we have solved these we can start the design process. Unfortunately, in our hectic world clients want to have their projects done within the shortest possible time and for the cheapest possible price. Because of this the websites are often full of ergonomic shortcomings. Let's have a look at some of them.

Webdesign has become a serious profession. The quality of websites has been gradually improving and by now there are real experts behind the more sophisticated ones. If someone is good at photoshop that does not necessarily mean he is a good web designer, even if he thinks so.

Pros ask the price of their work while amateurs try to operate with lower prices. I keep getting loads of emails in which people would like to have a website for rock bottom prices. This is of course out of the question.

Many of them may wonder why on earth I charge more than the average price? I could shoot them the usual bullshit bla-bla about professionalism and quality but no!
In my case it’s the talent and 15 years of experience that has to be paid…
