The cyber tennis vision by Lacoste

Back to the Index page | Write your own comment

I have always loved futuristic sports. This is why Lacoste’s new 75th anniversary advertisement aroused my curiosity. Lacoste’s vision of how tennis will look like by the second half of the century is really appealing.

Upon seeing the images of the advertisement I came to the conclusion that tennis players would definitely need a full-body protective cyber-gear with a laser racket to survive the game! If interested, check out the images.

Did you mean to say Lacoste’s vision is appalling or appealing? It’s unclear.

You know, I don’t think its “appalling”, seems like a cool thing if you ask me. But, I agree that the armor is a little bit too much.

I love this idea. I wish Tennis was like this now.

Instead of producing something that said the classic Lacoste look is a timeless style that would weather whatever the future holds for Tennis, they seem to think they will produce booties with garish stock ticker like text running across them.

Wonder if they’re anticipating faster serves and returns.

That’s a lot of protective gear for a tennis player.

Then again, maybe it’s just more for aesthetics than anything else.
